Dr. Anthony Scianni, D.M.D.

A New Jersey native, Dr. Scianni graduated from Rutgers University in 1982. With a Bachelors Degree in microbiology and business, Dr. Scianni entered dental school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He received his D.M.D. degree in 1986 and graduated at the top his class with honors. Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Scianni has followed a tradition of high-quality dentistry with personalized care. His philosophy is to use the latest techniques and State-of-the-Art technology to help maintain the patient’s oral health.

Strongly committed to ongoing professional education, Dr. Scianni participates in many continuing education courses, seminars, and clinics. He has attended over 1000 hours of continuing education in implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry and sleep-disordered breathing. He has received advanced training in implant dentistry from N.Y.U. College of Dentistry as well as advanced training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry from some of the world’s most renowned clinicians.

Dr. Scianni is affiliated with multiple dental associations including; the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Oral Implantologist, and the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA). He is also an expert contributing writer for a local magazine.

In only six months after joining the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA), he was elected to the board of the ASBA. He is the only dentist selected by the Pro Player Health Alliance to treat former pro football players for obstructive sleep apnea in the New Jersey chapter of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) as well as former players in New York, and Arizona.

The Pro Player Health Alliance (PPHA) is an organization helping former NFL players, by providing testing and treatment options for those who suffer from sleep apnea. The PPHA is dedicated to getting these former players tested and treated if necessary. This has been stepped up by working through The Living Heart Foundation and its HOPE program sponsored by the NFLPA. In addition, the PPHA is also dedicated to educating and raising sleep apnea awareness to the general public, in a fun and memorable way.

Because of his dedication and commitment, Dr. Scianni is now the Managing Director of the Pro Player Health Alliance. He was invited to the National Football League Pro Bowl and the National Football League Players Association annual meeting (only a hand full of dentists have had that privilege) to screen and treat former players for obstructive sleep apnea. He was invited to the super bowl by the executive director. He has treated numerous NFL greats as well as being interviewed by the New York Times about obstructive sleep apnea and pro football players.

He made a presentation to a Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA) Board, about the benefits available to the retired players regarding treatment for their sleep apnea and general dental care through the Pro Player Health Alliance which was well received. As a result of this presentation, Dr. Scianni and the Pro Player Health Alliance will be managing and administrating the fund which provides general dental care benefits to former players in addition to their sleep apnea treatment. Dr. Scianni is among a select group of dentists across the country, who will be providing general dental care to the these former NFL players. Dr. Scianni is also the team sleep apnea dentist for the NFL Arizona Cardinals.

Dr. Scianni has over two decades of practicing dentistry in New Jersey and relocated his practice, Renaissance Smiles to Colts Neck, NJ in 1993. Through his constant pursuit of perfection, Dr. Scianni incorporates the latest technology and the most advanced techniques to provide his patients with the highest level of care possible. Dr. Scianni and his team are committed to staying up to date on the most recent advances in dentistry and the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. As his general practice grew and through his treatment of patients over many years, Dr. Scianni recognized that many of his patients had sleep-disordered breathing problems that were not being diagnosed or treated by their physicians.
